Ingredients
- 700g (1.5 lbs)* sweet apples such as Pinova, Gala or Pink Lady
- cinnamon or other spices of choice (see text above for ideas)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 65 C fan (150 F). Wash your apples and thoroughly dry them. If you prefer, remove the peels (I leave them on).
- Cut the apples into 0.3 cm (1/8 inch) thick pieces, remove the core (I use a piping tip or small round cookie cutter for this) and align them on three (or more if available) baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Make sure not to overlap them. Sprinkle with cinnamon or spices of choice.
- Dry them for about 4 hours, or until they feel leathery and dry. Leave the oven door open a crack to release steam as they dry.
- Let them cool completely and then fill into an airtight jar.
Notes
*If you have more than 3 baking sheets available, feel free to increase the amount.
