Rose Coconut Bath Melts

Fragrant rose coconut bath melts that nourish your skin.
Today I want to share a super simple diy beauty recipe with you. In fact, you only need 2 ingredients and 5 minutes to make these! If you are just getting into diy beauty this is a great beginners recipe to try. I believe you will love these as they leave your skin super hydrated and soft.
We spent the weekend celebrating my husband’s birthday. Normally I would throw him a big party and invite all his friends and family but as you already know, we just moved to another country. So I decided to have it just be the two of us. We went for a hike, shared old memories, dined at a nice restaurant (my first visit to a Swiss restaurant!) and watched a movie before falling asleep. It was such a great day, it felt like it was my birthday. Getting out of the apartment and forgetting all about our to dos and furniture we still need to buy was such a welcome change and really helped us to relax.
Speaking of relaxing, my favorite way to unwind is to take a bath. (Well that and drink tea.) I love to make a bath more extravagant by adding in an oil, a salt, or even rose petals. That’s actually how I got the idea for these bath melts here. The great thing about them is that you can make them ahead of time and store them in the freezer till needed. Once dropped into hot water they melt instantly and disperse specs of rose petals everywhere. An instant bath upgrade so to say.
These bath melts are not meant to replace a body wash, they are merely an addition. While the coconut oil nourishes your skin and leaves it silky smooth, it does not cleanse it. Just pointing that out. 🙂
The star of this recipe is coconut oil, which can become solid if it’s below 25C in your home. To quickly turn it back into a liquid, simply put your jar of coconut oil in a water bath with hot water. You do not need to boil the water, it just needs to be hot. Let it sit there for a few minutes and you will soon be left with liquid coconut oil.
Once your coconut oil is liquified, take a clean and dry ice cube tray and fill the bottom with dried rose petals. Fill them up with coconut oil and sprinkle the tops with more dried rose petals. Let them set in your freezer for 30 minutes. And voila, you have rose coconut bath melts ready to be used for your next bath!

Do these need to stay in the freezer until used or can they be left out?
Hi Shandale! These need to be stored in the freezer.
