Strawberry Lime Smoothie

This smoothie gets its wonderful vibrant color from fresh strawberries and raspberries. The lime juice makes this a refreshing beverage for a hot summer’s day.

Confession time. I used to believe you do not need recipes for smoothies. I mean come on, they are the simplest way of cooking. No oven required and most often less than 5 ingredients! Pah, who needs a smoothie recipe? Let me tell you, after a series of spontaneous smoothie making sessions of wildly throwing random veggies and fruits into the blender and hoping for the best, I have converted. I am not making a smoothie without a recipe again.

I will spare you the horror of all the awful smoothies I have made in the past few weeks. I’d rather talk about this gorgeous and delicious strawberry lime smoothie right here. While it requires simple ingredients: strawberries, lime and raspberries, it has a unique tropical and sour/sweet flavour that is incredibly refreshing. You can make this ahead of time and it will not lose its color. Perfect as a smoothie on the go!

Everybody has different preferences when it comes to a smoothie. This smoothie has a somewhat medium consistency, not too thick not too thin. Use a bit of cold water if you prefer a thiner smoothie.

Strawberry Lime Smoothie
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 2 glasses 1x
Description
a vibrant refreshing tangy and sweet smoothie
Ingredients
- 300g strawberries (2 and 1/2 cups)
- 120g raspberries (1 cup)
- juice of 1/2–1 small lime
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1/2 cup ice cubs
- water to thin it out as needed
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
